The transfer is detailed in point 3.7 of the Domain Registration Policy.
In the case of a registered domain, the Registrant may change the Registrar (transfer). This is not possible for a conditionally registered domain. As a result of the transfer, the expiry date of the domain will be extended by one year. For 30 days following the transfer, neither another transfer nor a trade of the given domain name may be initiated.
If the domain name is also protected by a registry lock, the Registrant must remove it in order to perform the transfer.
If the domain name is not a document-protected domain, prior request of the Domain Authorization Code from the Registry is required for the transfer.
As a general rule, the request for the code is initiated by the current Registrar after the identification of the Registrant. The Domain Authorization Code is provided to the Registrant after factor based authentication and approval.
If the request for the code is unsuccessful through the Registrar for any reason, the Registrant may initiate the request via the website start.domain.hu. The Domain Authorization Code is provided to the Registrant by the Registry after successful identification.
The Domain Applicant must conclude a new domain maintenance agreement with the new Registrar and must submit an application in accordance with point 1.2.2 of the Domain Registration Policy. In addition, if:
- the domain name is not a document-protected domain, the Domain Authorization Code must be provided,
- the domain name is a document-protected domain, the document specified in point 3.3.1 of the Domain Registration Policy must also be submitted, requesting the transition to factor based authentication.
